Resources for Parents
While the French Club is not a formal language training program, an effort is made to teach new vocabulary at each class, and to provide opportunities for the students to practice. How can you encourage and help your child with their French? Here are some of our suggestions:

- Muzzy - BBC Language Course for Children - available at the Howe library
Games
- Mille Bornes - a French card game where players attempt to accumulate distance while avoiding flat tires and red lights.
- Monopoly - the French version of this games uses Parisian locales instead of the traditional Atlantic City
- Uno - a simple counting card game
- Twister - good practice for French colours
- Clue - simple vocabulary items in French
Books
- Château-Mystère / Mystery Castle (An Usborne First Bilingual Reader) - contains text in both French and English, with puzzles and games, and a simple mystery.

- Talespinners - DVD available from the National Film Board in Canada - 8 short animations with stories about cross-cultural issues - can be played in French or English

- Les aventures du Petit Corbeau : Le tricycle d'Eddie. A simple story game for younger kids in French, English and German, published by the Tivola Publishing Company. Here is a sample screenshot.
